From Puerto Natales to El Calafate & Perito Moreno Glacier and El Chaltén

Our bus left Puerto Natales at 7:30 am and the transfer to El Calafate was smooth. After a 5 hours drive we arrived at El Calafate bus terminal and made our was to our Hostel (America del Sur).  Our room is located in a small house on the side of the hostel which we share with one other couple. Otherwise we have everything to ourselves. Cool!

We went grocery shopping for tomorrow's trip to Glacier Perito Moreno and then hung out at the common room of the hostel. We really like it here.

We got up early the next morning because we booked a tour to visit Perito Moreno Glacier. The Shuttle was supposed to pick us up at 8:45 and actually arrived at around 9:15. Our travel group has 16 other guests from France, Greece and Argentina. After about 1 hour drive we've reached the Park and head to the boat for the one hour cruise. After that, we explore the impressive Glacier on our own via different platforms. We can hear the glacier moving and cracking. After about 3 hours in the park we drive back to our Hostel and pack our stuff since we will be on an early bus to El Chalten the next morning.

After a 5 hours drive we've reached El Chalten and moved in to our Hostel. We stayed there for 5 nights and did all the populare hikes - Laguna de los Tres & Fitz Roy, Mirador Cerro Torre, Chorrillo del Salto, Mirador los Condores and Mirador Las Aguillas as well as Pliege Tumbado. We had one day of really bad weather and stron winds so we were doing all hikes during the day and didn't camp outside. The hike we enjoyed the most was Laguna de los Tres and Pliege Tumbado. Both path lead through the forest and the nature is simply breath-taking.
